What you want to learn more of, what you hope never to have to do again?
Last chance to get it all out.
When we started this class I thought I new everything there was to know about web 2.0, but boy was I wrong. I've learned so much through this class about different sites to accomplish different goals and how is it is to use some of these sites.I think after trying all these new sites it has made me want to go out and try out more new sites. I am a very hands on learner so actually participating in the project made it so much more fun to learn about. I plan to use the video and photo manipulation sites in the future because I really enjoy creating stuff. I am also hoping to get better at photo manipulation and getting a better camera and trying to make a side job out of it. One thing I probably wont ever do again is make a podcast I'm not a big fan of hearing myself talk...LOL

COPYRIGHT or WRONG?
I'm still not 100% on this Copyright stuff. Basically to me unless you wrote it, created it, or bought and paid for it you have no rights to anything in this world. Its all comes down to a few people messing it up for everyone else, and the old mighty dollar if someone thinks they can make a quick but off you they will.Dont get me wrong I dont agree with kids remixing as they called it, I think they could reword it so you know they got the sense of whatever it is they are doing, and also created the original creator. Maybe we should better educate or children about these rules and be a bit more specific, they arent going to learn get accused of high jacking someone elses work all the time. We should also teach to our youngsters to think for themselves a bit more. I guess my over all opinion is yes we should have a copyright, but to what degree is it necessary I think it has gone too far.

Generation F
I am an avid Facebooker, it has become increasingly worse since classes started back up, I'm stuck on the computer all day everyday for homework so at the same time I am Facebooking with friends and family. I just recently got the internet on my phone and thats something I didn't want to do in the beginning of the semester and now I have it, because thats where most of my networking, and communication with my boyfriend is done through because he's deployed right now. Most of the people I talk to on a daily basis are at work, and I always nag them about being allowed to be on Facebook while at work.I remember when people used to get in trouble for using it at work and now its just excepted by employers.
Just recently I began to notice that people status's were updated more frequently and about more day to day things, nothing increasingly important. I guess that would come from "Power comes from sharing, not Hoarding" Everyone wants to share and the more they share the more connected they are to others. The other thing that caught my eye was "Contribution counts for more than credentials" this is very true no one cares about who's posting what all they care about is how it may relate to them or someone they know.
I Love the internet and what it does for me, makes life a little easier SOMETIMES,for example communicating with our soldiers, who are 100's of miles from home and need that support. The internet has also become a problem people like myself are becoming way to reliant on it and for simple communication or just simply over using it.

The Longest Trail
I love to shop online, actually as I type right now I am shopping online for Christmas and myself of course ;)My cousin shops off Amazon so much that she gets all these super deals and never has to pay S&H.I used to do Amway Global, for those of you who dont know what it is, its a group of stores like Sears, barns and noble, car parts stores and SO MUCH MORE, anyway the point of this was that my higher up was always saying how by 2013 or something like that, that 80% of people in the US would be shopping online for most of their needs. I'm not sure there math was completely right with the time and percent, I know over the years since then that peoples internet shopping had just got bigger and bigger. You can get great deals, you save on gas, and it can be done from the convenient of your very own home. I think that the internet will continue to get bigger , and so will our shopping from it.

Podcasting
This week we went over podcasts, from how to make one to how to pick one. I never used podcast before in my life and was very interested in finding out my opinion about them was based on the a small fraction of what podcast was. I was excited to know that podcasting included music, articles, movies , TV and more. I don't think I will get much personal use out of it, but there are some cool learning podcasts out there for kids, which would be better than TV because then they can use their imagination.I dont know as if podcast will make it big or last long, but nothing really does anymore there is always bigger and better things to come with more complication, and more convenience or so they say.

Power Point Presentation
I love making Powerpoints, they make presenting so easy.Hans did a great job of showing what a powerpoint is capable of, not that I was interested really in the statistics of what he was showing. The animation was great and his presentation itself was an attention getter.Powerpoints should only be used for a few quick lines to let the audience know what you will be informing them about, then the presenter does the rest.I have made powerpoints for a few years or more now, but I still dont think mine will be as well put together as Hans.I will admitt I have trouble sometimes with putting too much information on my powerpoint because I have trouble with public speaking and forget everything I want to share as soon as I get up there, that is until I notices they had a little note section on the bottom of the powerpoints so I can write what I want to share without it showing up on the slide itself. I plan to take everything I learn from this week and put it to good use.

Kindle 2
First off the kindle is awsome,I have heard of them before but never really saw how they worked. That is probably one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. For someone like myself who dreads reading because I can never find a book I like, it makes me want to read, having the choice of any book pretty much at the tip of my fingers and having the option of being read to...where were these when I fist started school, there were plenty of books I would have rathered been read to me. Which brings me to the next topic, this whole copyright thing, to me it sounds stupid. Yes I understand why some say its a copyright issue, but seriously! There's bigger fish to fry and there are going to be more and more technologys to come out that are going to make it hard for older technologies to get the business they were and there already have been plenty. In one of the comments I read below the article they said are we going to be sued for singing with songs now too?

Obama
Personally I don’t know what all the fuss is about, it’s just because it made a couple bucks that AP now wants to take credit for it and it wasn’t even theirs to begin with! I think that Fairey manipulated the picture enough to get away with it, it was a great piece of art work and as one of the articles said Fairey’s work didn’t devalue Mannie’s photo if anything it brought up the value of the original. I think we have bigger fish to fry then worry about an inspirational piece of art would like “Hope”. What about BP they destroyed have the freaking ocean and we got people who are worried about who deserves credit on art unbelievable, I mean I know two wrongs don’t make a right, but seriously the original photograph was fine with the art and was actually flattered so leave it be. As far as fair rights go I think Fairey has it in the bag, and that’s probably why all charges were dropped.

Micro Art and Fiction
After reading the articles on micro art,I think it's pretty neat and different. My question is, is this just another step in the wrong direction, does this really signify that we rely on technology more than we should? I don't know and can't answer that for you, but I can give you my opinion. I think that a phone is a phone, its for communicating not playing games, drawing pictures or making music.I don't have internet on my cell phone or any apps, the only thing I do on my phone is make and receive calls, text, and take pictures. I'm not trying to come off as a negative Nelly, it's just not for me.

Creative Commons
This week we read What is Creative Common and even after reading it I'm still rather confused on exactly how this works and the legal end of it. I would never know how to use it, glad I dont plan on making, writing or singing anything anytime soon. From what I do understand I think it would be useful to artist and so on because they are creating their own rights on there work, and giving only as much as they want of it to the public to use. Copyright laws can be so confusing and people are constantly getting in trouble for misuse of others works. I have to admit I have downloaded music from sites that warn you the artist or what not have not given anyone the rights to their music.

5000 Day's of Web
“The web is us, all screens look into one, No bits live outside the web, to share is to gain, Let one read it”
“It’s Amazing and we’re not amazed” (Kevin Kelly). I couldn’t agree with this statement more. The web is the world’s biggest machine, and the most reliable with no downtime as Kevin said and we just take it for granted. To some of us its second nature like breathing, to others its new and we are still learning how to use it, but we better learn fast because its growing and more and more businesses and people are relying on it. Some of the biggest things that stuck out to me in this video were : 100 billion clicks per day, 55 trillion links between web pages in the world, 1 billion PC chips on the internet, 2 million emails per second, 1 million IM messages per second, and 65 billion phone calls per year. That to me is truly amazing how much we use the web and what we use it for. Kevin said it best the web is like the Blackhole sucking more and more in everyday. The last thing that really grabbed my attention and is kind of scary to think about is the web is equal to one human brain, 30 years from now the web will equal 30 billion human brains, and in 2040 the web will exceed humanity in processing power! If that doesn’t give you something to ponder on I don’t know what will….

Web 2.0
Five years ago I never even really used the internet, now I’m on it constantly. I look up household questions on there, home remedies, and ideas for dinner, I even did Weight Watcher online. I use Facebook on a daily basis, I used to have Myspace too, but it was too much to have two social networks going on at once. I just started doing more shopping online. Before I would only purchase my school books on here, now I buy yard toys, clothes, and beauty products. I started my own online business a couple years ago, I’m no longer doing it, but I would sell product for another company and get a percentage of the profit from it. I also sell my used textbooks on Craigslist. The obvious is that I take online classes, when I started school back in 2008 I never even dreamed of doing online classes, now I take at least one a semester.
It’s crazy how much daily usage I get out of the web, I never even notice until now. I used to be afraid to put my credit card online, but now I will pay certain bills online and only order from certain websites. The business I was in said that by 2000 something more than 90% of the public would do all their shopping online and I’m pretty sure they were right, maybe I should have stuck it out. If you think of everything we can do using the web today, watch movies, talk to people in a different country using Skype, take college classes, and do all our shopping, etc it amazes me . In the next 10 years we won’t have to leave our house to go to the doctors you could do all the check up on Skype or drive your car it will automatically drive itself with all the technology we have in going into cars today. I use the web so much already I’m honestly scared of how much I will use it in the future. This class is already opening my eyes up to how dependent I am on the web there are some many more things that keep coming to mind that I use the web for and never even gave it a thought. I’m thinking that maybe I should take a step back from it and find alternatives to the web.

My thoughts
I'm not completely sure what I'm going to learn about in this class besides blogging and how to incorporate a couple devices with the computer, which will be great. Some things in this class will be second nature like blogging, I use facebook all the time and I used to have a Myspace page too. There is going to be others that drive me nut like how to get this headphone with mic. set to work, been trying for days and still can't figure it out. I hope to take a few things from this class that I can actually use in my everyday life, and learn a few things that just make it interesting. To be honest I'm pretty nervous on how this class will go considering its an online course and it has to do with learning more about computers and media, for example what do I do if I just can figure something out even with help from the teacher and my peers then what? what do you do? On top of this class I have two other classes and come to find out they all start and end on the same days of the week so this should make things a bit interesting and hard to follow ....I can handle it though I'm determined to do my very best and take something out of every class I take. I have taken a few classes online in the past but no more than two at a time, this is another new experience to see how much I can handle and how well I multitask. I'm looking forward to meeting my classmates and getting their opinions on things.
